Our Story
Humble Beginnings
In 1995, brothers Lance and Todd Appelbaum experienced game meat for the first time. Impressed by the taste of these healthy and sustainable meats, they returned home with a vision to raise Ostrich and Bison on the East Coast.
Lance recalls, “Growing up, my brother [Todd] always wanted to be a farmer, and I always knew I wanted to run my own business. Right then and there, we realized, this is what we gotta do.” Just two years later, Fossil Farms was founded.

Whole Moulard Duck

Whole Moulard Duck is the cross between the Muscovy (male) and Pekin duck (female). The result produces a larger, meatier breast than any other duck breed. This is why Whole Moulard Duck breast is often referred to as the "ribeye of the sky." This amazing duck has an earthy flavor with wonderful steak overtones.

Wonderful duck

It was nice a large to have enough for 11 people to have some along with a 12 lb turkey. It was crispy with very tender flesh. I would buy one again

One odd duck

It was great,.. never tasted bird before that resembled steak.

Mulard duck

The recent order for the whole Mulard duck was delivered frozen and in perfect condition. The flavour was superb. Just wish the delivery charge wasn’t so high.
