Duck & Foie Gras Bratwurst Sausage with Homemade BBQ Sauce

Prep Time: 40 minutes • Yields: 4 servings

Ingredients:
1 pkg. Fossil Farms' Duck & Foie Gras Bratwurst Sausage, 4 ea. (4 oz.) 1 lb.
1 pkg. hot dog buns
1 cup sauerkraut
(store-bought or homemade)
BBQ Sauce:
1 cup ketchup
½ cup apple cider vinegar
¼ cup brown sugar
2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp. Dijon mustard
1 tsp. smoked paprika
½ tsp. garlic powder
½ tsp. onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste

Equipment:
Measuring cups and spoons
Grill or grill pan
Knife & Cutting board
Medium saucepan
Whisk or spoon
Tongs
Basting brush
Small bowl
Serving plates

Method:
Prepare the BBQ Sauce:
1. In a medium saucepan, combine the ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
2. Stir the ingredients over medium heat until well combined.
3. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally until the sauce thickens.
4. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat and set aside.
Cook the Sausages:
5. Preheat your grill or grill pan to 350°F or medium-high heat.
6. Place the Duck & Foie Gras bratwurst sausages on the grill. Cook the sausages for about 5-7 minutes
per side, or until they are fully cooked and have nice grill marks.
7. Remove the sausages from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.
8. While the sausages are resting, lightly toast the hot dog buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes until they are warm and slightly crispy.
Assemble the Sausages:
9. Place a grilled sausage in each hot dog bun. Top each sausage with a generous amount of sauerkraut.
10. Drizzle the BBQ sauce over the sauerkraut and sausage.
11. Serve the sausages immediately, while hot, and enjoy!
